The August Edition, Editor’s Picks in Food, Drink & Lifestyle

Another month has flown by in what for me has been an intense period of work. It’s incredible to be experiencing some sense of normality again but the travel restrictions are still too hard for me to navigate! I’m sure many of you can relate but when you have a mixed household of people whom some can and some cannot isolate it makes finalising a holiday destination decision significantly more challenging. This past month I have been exploring some of the best parts of the London lifestyle scene and for product reviews, I have been very focused on how I can emulate a taste of the Mediterranean from my not-so-Mediterranean garden and yes, you guessed it, trying a lot of Provence rosé!

See below for the August Edition, my top picks in Food, Drink & Lifestyle.

A Luxurious Luncheon Experience at South Lodge Hotel, West Sussex

Masterchef Winner Steven Edwards has taken over the renound Pass Restaurant in the five star South Lodge Hotel this Summer. The residency is only short, as he is refurbing his much-acclaimed Etch Restaurant premises in the centre of Hove. Steven’s team are heading up proceedings at The Pass and his Head Chef George Boarer (Brighton’s Young Chef Of The Year 2017) is doing an incredible job at the helm of the wheel. We tried their 7-course tasting menu for lunch, accompanied by a couple of glasses of local Ridgeview bubbles. Highlights of the meal? Pea and broad bean aerated soup with mint oil and crushed broad bean base, sublime. The “Chocolate” dish too was perfectly balanced, with crunch, sweetness and saltiness, a great start to the dessert courses.

Steven Edwards At The PassA taste of Provence from Chateau Minuty Rosé

No need to travel to Provence this summer. Minuty Prestige Cotes de Provence Rosé brings you the French Riviera in just one sip. Incredibly refreshing, light, and fruity, one glass of Minuty Prestige brings to you that salty air, lightly sunburnt feeling that automatically transports us to that end-of-the-day feeling after a day on the beach.

Chateau MinutyDine at Sumosan Twiga

If you’re looking for a high-end, fine dining, buzzy, upbeat restaurant this Summer, you need to head to Sumosan Twiga in Knightsbridge. The multi-award-winning restaurant offers a diverse combination of Authentic Japanese and Italian food. Set over three floors, the iconic London eatery’s menu is headed up by Head Chef Alessandro Scala, previously of COYA. See our

Kristina Meyer’s New Yoga Class At Bamford

If you’re after a new class in London this month, there’s no better place to go than Bamford. Annabel Hill tried out the new Ashtanga class for us recently and had this to say, “The approach here is warm and welcoming and is open to levels and ages – choose from a range of yoga styles, pilates or meditation classes to suit your mood. “Yoga starts at £24 for 60 minutes (75 and 90-minute classes are also available) with a maximum of 7 attendees in each class. Classes can be booked on their website or over the phone at either of their Brompton Cross and Cotswold locations.

Bertinet Bakery popped onto my radar after the recent health foods feature I wrote and I was lucky enough to try out a bunch of their products. I love any type of Sourdough, and since I no longer have the luxury of a leisurely day in lockdown, I’ve been looking for new ways to get my fix. Established in 2008, The Bertinet team bake their bread with no artificial ingredients and “traditional methods” from their base in Bath. We love the Sourdough Boule and the Seeded Sourdough loaves.
