Ten minutes with the founders of Peachies Nappies

Peachies is an innovative brand revolutionizing nappies by prioritizing comfort, sustainability, and family care. Founded in 2020, Peachies creates super-soft, chemical-free nappies with exceptional absorbency and eco-friendly design, reducing environmental impact. Their mission supports families through the critical early stages of child development while aiming for B Corp certification to further their positive impact on people and the planet.

1. How did your time running the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club at Imperial College shape your approach to building the brand?

Rima: We met while studying at Imperial College in London. It was COVID and we were in different degree programmes so the odds of us meeting were pretty low. Except that we’re both nerds and applied for leadership positions for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club. We found ourselves a few weeks after our chance meeting on Orientation Day outside the business school paired up to run this society. That was our introduction to working together and after a few weeks it was clear to us we’re a seriously dynamic duo. When the idea for Peachies came about, it was only natural that we would work on it together. What’s funny in hindsight is that I remember my flight to London from Vienna and journaling about finding a cofounder while studying and lo and behold I did. What’s also funny is Morgan told me well after we started Peachies that when telling me about the idea she never really intended that I come onboard…I just said “let’s do it”. She said she hesitated for a second but quickly decided the journey would be a lot more fun with someone to share it with. We’ve now been on this wild ride together for more than 3 years and we have more to come because we love what we do and why we do it.

Morgan: Peachies is an ode to the women around us who have inspired us, supported us and pushed us to think outside the box. We design for our sisters (I’m an aunt 6 times over), friends, working mums, the mums leading on holding down the fort at home, and truly every mom that is balancing 1 million things at once to raise happy, healthy children. But it’s also the dads, the grandparents and the other carers that make up a child’s community. It’s about normalising and celebrating different family structures and the wild, difficult and beautiful journey that is raising children. Peachies recognises that how we care for parents from the inside out has a major impact on the development of their children.

  1. You recently completed a huge funding round. How did you approach the fundraising process, and what advice would you give to other early-stage founders looking for investment?

The first capital we ever secured was a grant awarded as part of a pitch competition at Imperial College London. We raised our first funding round from angels and a small fund in early 2022 and more recently in 2024. We are incredibly proud to have some great people onboard including Anotherway Ventures, the fund supporting purpose-led consumer brands and Antler, the most active private early-stage VC firm in the world, as well as a number of high-profile angels – including the founders of children’s bicycle brand Woom and a former senior leader at Kimberly Clark (Huggies owner).

Our top three nuggets of advice for fundraising are 1) network, network, network; 2) get comfortable asking people for money; and 3) plan ahead. Network with all the tools and communities at your disposal. Even if you know someone can’t or won’t invest, they can be a conduit to someone who wants to, so always ask if they know anyone else that could be interested in your business. For us, fundraising started out as a really painful process because you’re vulnerable and it’s a delicate balance of showing what your company does really well, what it needs to grow and how people can meaningfully support your journey (because we’ve found people who can help you are more engaged investors and advisors). But you have to just get on with it and the more you prepare, the more confident you’ll feel in those conversations. Pitch decks need to be concise and compelling with strong data and visuals. Your data room is where you can show all the underlining metrics that make your business tick.

3. As co-founders, how do you split your roles within the company?

Morgan: Although we both say that we each own one area of the business, we’re happy to move outside of our designated roles and wear many hats as founders. Primarily, I’m responsible for operations and Rima owns the company’s marketing and branding, but really we work across both together quite closely, plus all the other areas depending on our needs and capacity.

Rima: It’s a great way to work because it means that we’re both learning and growing together when it comes to being exposed to new areas of business. Whether that’s finance, employee management or fixing company IT – we both know how to do it all! This also means that if one of us is out, then we’re not being slowed down because one of us isn’t available. It keeps the company moving and it keeps us both aware of what’s needed across the company, instead of being focussed on our own silos.

founders of Peachies Nappies4. Take us through a typical day in the life of running Peachies.

No two days are the same – for better or for worse. That uncertainty about what the day brings and your ability to react to it whilst balancing longer-term strategic objectives is an inherent dichotomy that we navigate daily. The day starts with checking our data points – sales, orders, customer acquisition cost etc – and checking in with the team to align on what we need to tackle. We divide work between individual deep thinking and collaborative projects or meetings. One of our highlights of the week is our Friday team meeting where we dedicate time to appreciations. Each team member spotlights a colleague that made a positive impact on their week. It’s not only a great way to end the week on a high note but also to discover what makes your colleagues feel supported.

Firstly, as the first premium nappy in the UK, Peachies help parents sleep through the night, change fewer nappies, do less laundry and protect baby’s skin from nappy rash. Peachies are also engineered for revolutionary softness, the perfect fit and maximum performance with 3x higher absorbency than other leading brands. We offer a subscription to our product to ensure that parents never run out of nappies! Plus we offer 25% off for twins. We’ve also been rated excellent in our dermatological tests and are proud to say that 25% of our nappy is made from plant-based materials. Plus, Peachies saves up to 93 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions per 1,000 babies per year.
