Situated in the heart of Fulham, you will find London’s friendliest, tastiest gourmet burger restaurant serving a plethora of ultimate British burgers, each served with a mouth-watering creative twist and clearly crafted with passion, skill, a love of good food and made with the finest Britsh produce. Foxden Burger Bar has been causing quite a stir on Instagram since they opened in summer 2020 at the height of ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme when the country embraced a new appreciation for restaurant cooked goodness. Since then, they have built a salivating portfolio of images to perfectly reflect their inventive menu and give even the non-burger fans (like me) amongst us wide eyes and pangs of hunger.
I was lucky enough to visit Foxdens on a Friday night and made sure I had not eaten too that day. Just a short walk from Fulham Broadway station, you cannot miss Foxden’s neat exterior which proudly sports its name across the front. Although outdoor seating is available, I sat inside at one of Foxden’s sturdy tables which are big enough to entertain large parties of hungry friends. Being small on the inside is a real attribute to Foxden, allowing guests to benefit from an intimate experience and feel involved with the cooking of their food with the kitchen visible from behind the bar.
Served by a lovely waitress, Erin, I started my meal with a refreshingly delicious cocktail ‘Sex in the Den’. Consisting of vodka, sloe gin, cranberry juice, orange juice, lemon juice and sugar. After much deliberation and the decision that I would have to return to try out more burgers in the future, I settled on ordering the special ‘Foxden Burger’ which is a dry-aged, grass-fed British beef patty with slow-braised pulled beef, truffle cheese sauce, rocket and red onion jam along with a side of sweet potato fries and garlic truffle mayo.
After the chef had asked me how I wanted my burger cooked (medium rare, he advised, because the beef is of such high quality) and with a brilliant 80s/90s playlist in the background set against the cheerful chatter of other contented diners, I soon marvelled at the glorious burger that was placed in front of me. Sinking my teeth into the golden brioche bun which encased a succulent patty oozing with cheese and adorned with crispy fresh rocket, I decided to rid myself of the non-burger lover label, realising I had just never tasted a burger this good before.
The quality of ingredients that Foxden use must add to the guilt-free factor of eating here and this also went for the scrumptious sweet potato fries and the game-changing garlic truffle mayo, the perfect accompaniment. Desserts are also available at Foxden for those who have room left and if you are wanting to have this delicious experience from the comfort of your own home, you can, as Foxden just this month reached the finals for best newcomer in the British Takeaway Awards. A true ‘gem’ in London’s coolest, tastiest places to eat.
