Like many, we’re missing our favourite Brighton Cocktail bars and looking for alternative ways to get our regular cocktail fix without the hassle of stocking a full bar at home. Luckily for us, there’s a new Brighton-based company to cater to all our at-home cocktail needs in the form of ‘ Pick Your Poison’.

PYP was established four years ago by distiller Josh Harper, inspired by his love of cocktails, local produce and developing flavours. While training to be an actor, Josh spent a lot of time working in various bars and restaurants. This is where his passion for cocktails began. He created pick your Poison as a part-time business to cater for small events and parties in his local area.

Whilst doing this Josh was fortunate enough to be offered a job at Silent Pool Gin distillery where he underwent training to become a fully qualified distiller. Here he ran distillations, took tours and made cocktails alongside running pick Your Poison. It was 2 years ago where Josh was offered a distilling job with Brighton Gin and didn’t hesitate to move down to his favourite city, Brighton, and since the start of his distilling career, Josh has worked for both Global brands and small local handcrafted products and has made over 20 spirits currently available on the market. Josh has worked with various brands and bars creating specialised and unique cocktails menus.

Taking his knowledge and experience Josh wanted Pick Your Poison to be a tailor-made portable bar and mixologist service, able to cater for any of your drinks needs and of any party size. From fully packaged events to small private educational experiences for individuals and groups of friends. Pick your Poison offers a high-end experience where you can sit back, relax while enjoying some delicious unique cocktails and maybe learn a thing or two.

During these times, Pick Your Poison has teamed up with Madame Jennifer Distillery based in the Heart of Hove to bring a Quarantine Cocktail Delivery Service to BN1,2,3,41 AND 42. All cocktails are made using Madame Jennifer Spirits and Fresh Local Products, following strict Covid-19 regulations. The Cocktails are served in a sterilised jar, each jar contains 2 drinks, just add ice shake and serve, and in some cases strain. Each drink contains 50ml of spirit.

 You can order in advance or on the day, for same-day delivery orders should be made by 2pm. If you order in advance get in touch and let us know what day you would like it dropped off.
