Four seasons Marrakech: Hotel review
Desperate to escape the UK in search of new and warm pastures, we found ourselves booking a much-needed family break one grey and rainy evening in very early January. There’s something about the Christmas comedown which means I immediately start thinking of sunnier times, always after the next best thing, one of my best and worst Leo traits.
We decided upon Four Seasons Marrakech, a destination that has been saved on my ‘Travel’ album for well over three years now, the iconic pool picture burning a hole in the back of my head every time I saw it, I knew one day I had to visit.
Adults only pool at FS Marrakech
Helpfully, FS Marrakech is located just a short ten-minute drive from the airport. Whether you’re enjoying a luxurious couples break, girl’s weekend away or travelling with little ones in tow, you can’t argue that a close airport to hotel commute isn’t somewhat desirable. Just a handy three-hour flight from Gatwick, this destination makes for the perfect spring or autumn break. Having said this, if I didn’t have to worry about temperatures with a little person I might be tempted to travel into early summer, but with my strong British and Irish lineage I don’t believe I would fair well in the heady summer temperatures often going into the mid-forties in central Morocco.
Pool suite room
Designed to emulate the traditional Moroccan riads, our pool suite room, complete with spacious bathroom, dressing area, ample wardrobes, mini bar, living room and deliciously sumptuous bedroom made the perfect destination for a family of three. My husband, myself and our nearly two year old, who, for no love nor money, will sleep if she is in the same room as us. So naturally, the first thing I did upon arrival was to ship her lovely crib out into the living room where I might add, she slept like a dream all week long.
Having a pool and sun loungers on our terrace was definitely a game-changer for this break as I got a wonderfully spoiling two-hour sunbathing and pool-dipping session every day of the holiday and for the first time since becoming a parent, actually managed to finish a book in a week. What a treat. As someone who’s baby also refuses to pram nap, this really felt like a ‘proper’ holiday for us as parents.
Pool suite bedroom
Sumptuous decor, velvet, linen and the most divine bed await you in the bedroom interiors and room service is of course available. Turn downs are a thing here and thankfully, they quickly cottoned on to our early bedtime routine without prompting so we were grateful to still receive the little luxuries from the clearly, very switched-on and family-friendly team here.
Pool suite at FS Marrakesh
For children, the kid’s club (available for ages 4-12 or for younger ones, accompanied by an adult) at Four Seasons Marrakech left little to be desired. A beautifully decorated building with everything they could wish for was included. The resort offers a complimentary 'Kids For All Seasons' program, featuring a dedicated 'kasbah' with a mini theatre, kitchen, outdoor play zones, and a shallow pool for smaller children. Teenagers can enjoy the Young Adult Centre, equipped with video games, movies, and sports facilities. All completely safe, secure and handily located next to a baby pool, and the much larger family pool so that you are less than a stone’s throw away from your precious cargo.
By the family pool you can expect sumptuous sun beds, attentive staff and a tasty lunch and drinks menu that won’t break the bank. Everyone’s catered to here. Looking for something a little more formal? Why not head to the Azerra Lounge, poolside grill located just above the adults-only pool for a Mediterranean-style laidback lunch? We chose this restaurant for very late lunch (5pm) one day when we knew our little one needed an early night - the perfect compromise.

Babysitting services are available here upon request, and both children and adults can take advantage of the facilities at Le Spa. Yes, there are even children’s treatments here, luxury for every member of the family. All guests can use the steam, sauna and jacuzzi facilities but I recommend you book in for a traditional Moroccan Hammam to truly soak up the culture of this magnificent country if one of the many massages, facials or beauty treatments don’t take your fancy.
There are three restaurants to choose from on-site in addition to the poolside menu; Quattro (here you will find the breakfast buffet and Italian cuisine for dinner), The Inara Lounge (adults-only, refined A La Carte Menu and cocktails) and the Azerra Grill (next to the adults pool and more Mediterranean-inspired).

Four Seasons Marrakech is a taste of luxury with all the family-friendly support systems in place you could wish for when travelling with children. Our room was equipped with everything we could need, and nothing was too much to ask, from baby baths to bottle sterilisers and highchairs in all the restaurants, you felt like you were catered for without it being too heavy on the ‘kiddie’ elements.
For parents seeking luxury travel with their children that keeps every member of the family happy, you’re going to need to add this to your list.
